The YDUQS Holding Group Deploys HID Mobile Access to Unify Its University Access Control

YDUQS, one of Brazil's largest higher education organizations, faced significant security challenges across its campuses. Their legacy access control system was difficult to administer and did not integrate across their universities, leading to frequent equipment theft and an inability to manage who was on their properties. They partnered with HID Global to find a solution.

HID Global, with a local integrator, implemented a new system using HID Mobile Access and iCLASS SE readers. This solution integrated with the universities' infrastructure and iControlSmart software, providing secure and convenient access for staff via mobile phones and for students via smart cards. The results for YDUQS included a drastic reduction in system downtimes, the ability to manage 40,000 daily transactions from a centralized platform, and significant cost savings. The success led to plans for a nationwide rollout of the HID Global system to over 20 additional campuses.
