A HID Global Case Study

Preview of the National University of Singapore Case Study

Suzhou Research Institute uses HID Global's access control systems for facility access, lecture rooms, and office building areas

The National University of Singapore Suzhou Research Institute required a sophisticated access control system to manage security and facility usage across its large campus. Their legacy system could not provide real-time monitoring, role-based access for restricted areas like labs, or integration with other safety systems. To address these challenges, the institute partnered with HID Global for a solution utilizing their VertX network controllers and iCLASS readers.

HID Global implemented a centralized, web-based IP access control system that leveraged the university's existing network and MiFARE credentials. The solution enabled precise access control based on reservations and schedules, integrated with patrol, video surveillance, and fire alarm systems for comprehensive safety, and provided real-time alerts. HID Global's system resulted in significant overhead savings by using existing infrastructure and offered a scalable platform with extensive support, achieving excellent customer satisfaction.
