The Carabinieri, Italy's national police force, faced the challenge of managing four separate credentials for identification, facility access, services, and information systems. HID Global provided a multi-technology card integrating optical media, a contactless chip for facility access, and an embedded contact chip for e-government services. This solution consolidated all functions into a single, tamper-proof credential that serves as an employee ID, citizen ID, and provides access to key facilities and information systems.
