SigmaPoint Technologies Inc. chose HID Global's RF IDeas/iCLASS® solution for its scaleability, flexibility, and high functionality

SigmaPoint Technologies Inc., a Canadian electronics contract manufacturer, faced a challenge in quantifying how its employee resources were allocated. Their manual, paper-based time and attendance system did not allow for automated data collection or accurate job cost tracking, making it difficult to improve workflow efficiency and create precise project quotes. To address this, they worked with vendor HID Global and its partner RF IDeas to implement a solution using RF IDeas AIR ID readers and writers alongside HID iCLASS contactless smart adhesive tags.

The solution involved affixing the iCLASS tags to existing employee ID badges. RF IDeas' technology enabled employees to log into workstations securely, automating the capture of time spent on specific projects and tasks into the company's SigmaTrack system. This provided SigmaPoint with automated time and attendance records and detailed job cost tracking. The results included streamlined operations, more accurate project quotes, and the ability to allocate resources more effectively. Based on this success, SigmaPoint plans to roll the solution out to two additional facilities.
