Oklahoma Turnpike Authority automates asset tracking with HID RFID tags

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority struggled to accurately track more than 1,200 servers, blades, routers, storage units, and other high-value IT assets across its data centers. Its manual inventory process was time-consuming, error-prone, and a drain on staff resources, so it turned to HID Global and RFID-based asset tracking to automate the job.

HID Global implemented HID RAIN® RFID UHF tags, including Adept 400 Data and IQ Label tags, to support fixed and mobile reader-based tracking through a web-based solution. The result was a fully automated inventory process that eliminated line-of-sight scanning, improved accuracy, and cut inventory time in half, while making asset check-in/check-out and maintenance tracking much easier.
