Norvento Enerxia, a Spanish group specializing in renewable energy facilities, needed a robust access control solution for its remote power stations. Their challenge was to replace rudimentary keys with a secure system that could withstand harsh weather, integrate remote monitoring and video surveillance, and comply with strict power plant regulations. They chose HID Global's iCLASS technology to address these needs.

The solution implemented by HID Global, integrated by Proxima Systems, used iCLASS RWK400 readers and 2k key fobs to create a single, IP-based system for access control, monitoring, and surveillance. This provided Norvento with real-time access knowledge, dual authentication, and high security. The results were increased security, reduced costs from eliminating keys, improved maintenance efficiency, and a reliable system suited for their extreme environments.
