Nissan Europe Drives Security with HID Global’s Smart Employee ID

Nissan Europe needed to strengthen security across 34 European locations while giving employees a single ID card for both physical and logical access, including secure remote access for mobile workers. To meet this challenge, Nissan Europe evaluated smart card and card management options and chose HID Global’s Smart Employee ID approach as a scalable foundation for a unified employee credential.

HID Global implemented ActivID Card Management System and 4TRESS AAA Server for Remote Access, supporting pilot testing, training, and a phased rollout across Europe. The result was over 7,000 users enabled for both building and network access, a significant drop in helpdesk calls, and a 50% reduction in global investment cost, while also improving security and simplifying card management.
