Municipality in Finland Becomes Model in Enhanced Security With HID Mobile Access®

The Municipality of Liminka sought to enhance security and user experience at its recreational facilities. Their old keyless entry system, which used physical tags and delayed text message codes, was costly to maintain due to lost tags and was vulnerable to misuse. To address this, they partnered with HID Global to implement a new mobile access control solution.

HID Global implemented its HID Mobile Access solution, utilizing HID Signo Readers and the HID Origo platform. This allowed users to gain access via their smartphones, eliminating physical keys. The results were significant, with user adoption increasing nearly sixfold and the municipality achieving 15-20% savings per user on operational costs. The solution also provided superior security, better access control insights, and a notable reduction in support calls.
