Mobile Access Control Transforms Cervantes School in Guadalajara

Cervantes High School in Guadalajara, Mexico, faced significant security challenges as an open campus with uncontrolled access, leading to unauthorized visitors and a rise in thefts. The school needed a system to control access and maintain a real-time record of campus occupants without creating bottlenecks for its 1,500 students and staff. After considering biometrics, they worked with vendor HID Global and integrator Amcorp to implement a solution using HID Mobile Access and Seos smart cards.

The solution deployed by HID Global involved the installation of multiCLASS SE readers at turnstiles to accept both Mobile IDs on smartphones and physical Seos cards, ensuring accessibility for all users. The school successfully issued approximately 1,500 credentials, which eliminated entrance bottlenecks, provided a simple administrative process, and created a much safer environment. The success of the project has turned the campus into a technology showcase, with other schools now seeking to implement similar HID Global solutions.
