The Miss Universe Organization, in partnership with UniCorp, faced a significant challenge with counterfeit tickets for its 2008 pageant in Vietnam. To ensure only authorized ticket holders could enter the event and to protect against security threats, they turned to HID Global for a secure access control solution.

HID Global’s solution utilized approximately 17,000 iCLASS contactless smart cards and 23 iCLASS RW100 readers. The vendor’s technology provided a secure, efficient, and counterfeit-proof ticketing system that validated each ticket in real-time at the venue. This implementation successfully prevented unauthorized entry, secured the event from breaches, and provided attendees with a unique souvenir, delivering a comprehensive and secure solution for the customer.
