Leading Chilean Bank achieves better security and user experience with HID Global

A major Chilean bank faced a significant security and operational challenge when the country introduced a new, more secure national ID card. The bank's existing systems could not read the new cards' contactless chips, forcing them to rely on slow and less secure verification methods. This increased the risk of fraud and created a poor customer experience, leading the bank to partner with their integrator, SOLEM, to find a solution with a new reader, for which they turned to HID Global.

HID Global provided its OMNIKEY contactless smart card readers for the project. The solution was rapidly deployed across approximately 400 branches and 2800 ATMs and reading points. The readers offered secure, high-speed verification with a small physical footprint. The implementation resulted in a vastly improved user experience for both customers and employees, successful adoption of the new national ID, and enhanced information security for the bank.
