They partnered with vendor HID Global to implement a more robust tracking solution using their UHF RFID technology.

The solution involved welding HID Global's durable Keg Tag transponders onto kegs, which allowed for non-line-of-sight scanning and near 100% readability. This provided Carlsberg UK with comprehensive, real-time data on keg location and status throughout the entire supply chain. The results included huge savings in fleet management costs, optimized tax reclaims worth millions of dollars annually, and unprecedented operational insight, leading to the program's expansion across tens of thousands of additional kegs.
