Jacksonville Transportation Authority Deploys HID VAL100 Ticket Validators

Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) needed a mobile ticketing solution with on-board validators to support a more connected transit system and improve the rider experience. Working with HID Global and Passport Inc., JTA sought intuitive, compatible hardware that would work with the MyJTA mobile ticketing app and allow for future scalability.

HID Global implemented HID VAL100 ticket validators on more than 200 buses, enabling riders to scan mobile tickets as they boarded. The solution improved boarding efficiency, increased mobile ticket use 5.5x year over year, reduced printed tickets, and delivered over $40,000 in savings in one year.
