Case Study: United States Marine Corps improves asset visibility and inventory accuracy with HID Global RFID solutions

A HID Global Case Study

Preview of the United States Marine Corps Case Study

Improving the accuracy of processing equipment by The United States Marine Corps

The United States Marine Corps needed a faster, more accurate way to process and track wheeled vehicles, rolling stock, and high-value assets while improving visibility and equipment status across LOGCOM facilities in Albany, GA and Barstow, CA. HID Global, working with CDO Technologies, supported the effort with passive RFID products and infrastructure, including the EXO 3000 RAIN® RFID UHF tag.

HID Global helped implement fixed and mobile RFID readers, solar-powered portals, and backend data integration so assets could be identified at receipt, storage, issue, and maintenance checkpoints. The solution improved inventory accuracy across several million dollars in assets, increased visibility into asset movement and status, and was expected to deliver a 50–75% gain in processing velocity and throughput.
