A large financial institution needed a faster, more reliable way to track computer servers and other high-value IT assets across its data centers. Its barcode-based process was labor-intensive and time-consuming, and the organization wanted a solution that could improve efficiency, support compliance, and integrate with BizTalk EDI software. HID Global, using HID Adept 400 Data RFID tags, was selected to help address the challenge.

HID Global implemented an automated RFID asset-tracking solution with passive UHF tags, mobile interrogators on carts, and fixed reader portals at data center entry and exit points. The system was deployed across 17 data centers and delivered significant inventory time savings, faster shipping and receiving reconciliation, improved risk visibility, and streamlined Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory compliance through more accurate, up-to-date asset records.
