How a Large State Department of Public Safety Modernized Radio Asset Tracking with RFID

Entigral helped the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (NCDPS) modernize tracking for more than 30,000 radios across over 100 correctional facilities. The agency had been using a homegrown Microsoft Access system, but needed a more robust, automated way to manage radios as they were issued, repaired, returned, and replaced.

Working with HID Global, Entigral implemented an RFID-based asset tracking solution using TraxWare™ software and the right RFID tags for the metal radio environment. The phased rollout minimized disruption, and about 4,000 radios have already been refreshed with RFID, giving NCDPS better inventory visibility, improved traceability, and a more accurate view of radio lifecycle activity.
