HID’s iCLASS® technology reinforces security and provides a one-card solution at Universidad Regionmontana

Universidad Regiomontana, a premier academic institution in Mexico, faced the challenge of securing its central campus and unifying various legacy systems into a single, secure ID card solution. The university's IT director, Roberto Ivón Dibildox, sought a system from a vendor like HID Global that would provide access control, manage time and attendance, and support future services without requiring new surveillance points.

HID Global implemented a solution using its iCLASS contactless smart card readers, reader/writers, and smart cards. Leveraging the Corporate 1000 Program, HID provided a unique, secure card format developed specifically for the university. The results included a unified card for photo ID, access control, library use, and cashless vending for over 6,000 users. The system's flexibility and security also paved the way for future biometric applications and provides the capacity to issue over one million unique cards to accommodate the school's significant growth.
