HID Printers assist with new health insurance scheme for the Below Poverty Line (BPL) famil

Lipi Data Systems, working as a system integrator for the Indian government's RSBY health insurance program, faced the challenge of issuing millions of biometric smart cards to below-poverty-line families across geographically dispersed and remote locations. The nationwide scale required an extremely reliable, easy-to-use, and portable printer solution to handle massive on-the-spot card issuance without delays. HID Global's FARGO C30e printer/encoder was selected to meet this challenge.

The solution implemented by HID Global involved deploying over 1,000 of their compact and robust C30e printers. The system integrator praised the printers' reliability, excellent print quality, and small footprint, which was critical as the equipment was constantly moved across the country. This partnership resulted in the successful issuance of over 4 million smart cards, providing a secure and foolproof identity verification method that allowed a large portion of the workforce to access healthcare benefits.
