Case Study: Port of Wilmington enhances TWIC enrollment and access control with HID Global pivCLASS Registration Engine

A HID Global Case Study

Preview of the Port of Wilmington Case Study

HID Global’s pivCLASS Registration Engine provides the Port of Wilmington with a TWIC enrollment and management solution

The Port of Wilmington, a major seaport, needed a solution to integrate new Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) cards with its existing Honeywell Pro-Watch access control system. Their challenge was to efficiently enroll and manage these credentials across their 307-acre facility and access a real-time list of revoked cards. They turned to HID Global for a software solution that could meet these specific MARSEC compliance needs.

HID Global implemented its pivCLASS Registration Engine software, which was deployed on both desktop and mobile readers to enable enrollment anywhere at the port. This allowed the port to continue leveraging its existing security system while adding the critical TWIC component. The solution provided significant time and effort savings by allowing security personnel to enroll workers on-site and automatically check card status against the official revoked list daily.
