A HID Global Case Study
Bodega Norton, a century-old winery in Argentina, needed a better way to track pay for its 150 harvesters during grape season. Its old chip-and-voucher system was slow, error-prone, and often led to lost chips, payroll discrepancies, and wasted time each week. HID Global provided an RFID and NFC-based solution to replace the manual process.
HID Global and Fundación Ada Byron implemented contactless MIFARE armbands for harvesters, HID Epoxy Disc tags on bins, and NFC-enabled smartphones for supervisors to record each bin in real time. The new system eliminated chip losses, gave Bodega Norton one extra day each week for harvesting, improved payroll accuracy and yield tracking, and helped create more reliable, real-time operational data.
