HID Global Provides IP-based Access Control Solutions to Postal Savings Bank of China

Postal Savings Bank of China (PSBC), one of the country's largest commercial banks, required a high-security access control system for its Beijing headquarters to manage thousands of access points and protect sensitive areas. Their challenges included stringent access level settings, the need for encrypted data transmission, and the integration of visitor and staff management systems. HID Global was selected to provide a solution using its iCLASS readers and credentials and VertX network controllers.

HID Global implemented an IP-based access control system using VertX network controllers and iCLASS readers, which provided encrypted communication and mutual authentication. The solution enabled centralized management, strict area control, and seamless integration with other systems like HR and visitor management. PSBC achieved intelligent security management with a low failure rate and was satisfied with the system's ease of use and the vendor's support. The solution also served as a multi-application card for staff.
