HID Global Helps Estonia Deliver State-of-the-Art ePassport

The Estonian Police and Border Guard Board (PPA), a national agency ensuring public safety, sought a state-of-the-art ePassport solution to integrate with its existing systems and meet the country's high standards for security and quality. The challenge was to develop an automated, secure ePassport that captured Estonia's national identity. They partnered with HID Global for this project.

HID Global provided updated ePassport booklets with enhanced security features and three software modules for personalization, quality assurance, and inventory management. This solution seamlessly integrated into the government's systems, resulting in a modernized issuance process. As a result, Estonia now has a secure passport that showcases its heritage, and HID Global will provide an estimated 800,000 ePassports over an eight-year contract.
