A HID Global Case Study
Bay State College, a private institution, needed a way to safely resume on-campus classes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The challenge was to implement an efficient contact tracing system that could quickly identify potential virus exposures while balancing health safety with personal privacy, as manual efforts would be insufficient.
HID Global provided a solution using their HID BEEKs Bluetooth beacons, which were issued to everyone on campus as badges or fobs. This system generated location data to enable precise contact tracing and monitor campus occupancy. The result was that Bay State College safely resumed in-person classes and established a method to keep the campus operational during isolated infections. The HID Global solution also provided a foundation for future crowd management.
