HID Global and Relegen deliver real-time armory tracking capabilities for the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service

The Australian Customs and Border Protection Service needed a faster, more accurate way to track critical weapons, protective gear, and other mission-essential assets across more than 50 locations. Before 2011, it relied on separate spreadsheets, which created delays in reporting and made it difficult to know the location and status of equipment in real time. HID Global, working with Relegen, was selected to help replace that process with a more integrated asset-tracking approach.

HID Global provided rugged RFID tagging solutions, including the Logi Tag and IN Tag families, to support Relegen’s assetDNA system and real-time asset visibility. The solution was designed to withstand harsh field conditions while maintaining data integrity and covertly identifying assets even if a tag was removed. HID Global’s contribution helped deliver a system that improved asset accountability, reduced the risk of missing or stolen weapons, strengthened officer safety, and enabled faster repair and replacement decisions based on up-to-date information.
