HID Designs Kingdom of Bahrain’s New ePassport Solution to Reflect Its Rich Culture

The Kingdom of Bahrain's Ministry of Interior, Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs needed to modernize its travel identity infrastructure to provide citizens with more secure and efficient travel. To upgrade its machine-readable passport system to a modern ePassport, the Ministry partnered with HID Global for a comprehensive solution covering enrollment, adjudication, personalization, and issuance.

HID developed a complete end-to-end ePassport solution for Bahrain, featuring its HID Integrale software, HID SOMA chip OS, and advanced security features like HID Mirage and HID SafeLink. This robust solution enabled Bahrain to join the ICAO PKD, facilitating faster visa applications and automated border control for its citizens. The result for the Ministry is a more secure, efficient issuance process and an ePassport that simplifies and accelerates international travel for Bahraini passport holders.
