The UK Home Office needed to replace slow, error-prone paper-and-ink criminal booking and identification processes with a faster, more mobile electronic approach. HID Global implemented a comprehensive electronic biometric identification solution featuring HID L Scan™ Tenprint and Palm Scanners, ArcID™ Store and Forward software, and a mobile Jumpkit. The result was deployment in more than 370 police stations, with the system handling over 2,500 enrollments per day and 3.3 million fingerprint searches each month, while improving match accuracy, eliminating paper fingerprint cards, and speeding up biographic data entry.
