Hera Group, a major Italian multi-utility agency, sought to optimize its environmental services and improve compliance through technological innovation. Their challenge was to implement a new tracking and traceability system for waste container logistics to guarantee greater efficiency and effectiveness. To meet this challenge, they partnered with vendor HID Global.

HID Global, along with a partner, provided a solution utilizing its EXO PRO 800 RFID tags attached to waste containers and UHF scanners on collection vehicles. This system automated processes by enabling the automatic identification, geolocation, and tracking of each container. The results for Hera Group included streamlined and accurate data processing, full traceability of information, and the ability to constantly analyze data to maximize service efficiency and effectiveness.
