A HID Global Case Study
Haltom High School in Texas faced security challenges, including instances of students from other schools attempting to enter the building. The school required a robust identification program but its previous card production process was laborious and time-consuming. The school worked with vendor HID Global and implemented the Fargo DTC500 Direct-to-Card Printer/Encoder to produce durable, high-quality ID cards in-house.
The solution from HID Global streamlined card production, reducing the process from several minutes to under two per card. This allowed the school to efficiently issue and replace cards, which are used for visual identification, library access, and bus rides. The program significantly improved security, which was proven when it helped thwart a potential drug dealer, and also led to a substantial decrease in in-school suspensions.
