Case Study: Good Technology achieves more secure, convenient mobile access control with HID Global

Good Technology works with HID Global on pilot program that speeds, simplifies and improves the security of physical access control for a mobile workforce

Good Technology, a provider of mobile data security solutions, wanted to explore whether smartphones could be used for secure physical access control as an alternative to proximity-based photo ID badges. The company partnered with HID Global on a pilot at its Sunnyvale headquarters to test mobile access for employees, with the goal of improving security and convenience.

HID Global implemented a digital key pilot using iCLASS SE readers, a SARGENT SE LP10 lock, and the HID Mobile Keys app with Seos credentials provisioned over the air to Samsung Galaxy S III smartphones. The pilot was a success: more than 80% of users said the smartphone was more convenient than a card, more than 83% said security was improved, and all participants found the app intuitive and easy to use, reinforcing HID Global’s value in secure mobile access.
