Leading Gas Provider Company needed a better way to track high-pressure gas cylinders across its global supply chain, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities. Its existing HF RFID and barcode process depended on manual inputs and struggled with errors, read failures, and harsh operating conditions, so it turned to HID Global and Passive RFID for a more rugged, hands-free approach.

HID Global, through Omni-ID, implemented an intrinsically safe RFID solution using the Adept 500 RAIN® RFID UHF tag and portal readers designed for metal surfaces and harsh environments. The result was over 150,000 cylinders tagged and 100% read rates for inventory and mixed pallets, enabling fully automated tracking with strong durability in demanding industrial conditions.
