Case Study: Beijing Sport University achieves secure one-card access control with HID Global

A HID Global Case Study

Preview of the Beijing Sport University Case Study

Beijing Sport University (BSU) Athletes Village and Training Site for Beijing Olympics 2008

Beijing Sport University required a high-security access control system for its Olympic venues that met strict technological and brand requirements for the 2008 Games. The challenge was to implement a multi-functional "One Card Solution" that could manage physical security, payments, and identity verification on a scalable, TCP/IP-based network. HID Global worked with its partner, Skyrity, to address this need.

The solution involved implementing HID Global's VertX controllers and ProxPoint Plus readers, integrated with Skyrity's management software. This created a unified system for access control, alarm linkage, and retail management, all using a single, secure IC card. HID Global's reliable and scalable products were key to the project's success, delivering a state-of-the-art system that ensured security for the Olympics and provided a durable solution for the university's future use.
