Beijing Metro required a robust and centralized access control system to safeguard its extensive network of stations and facilities. The challenge involved managing access across lengthy routes, harsh environments, and numerous remote locations while ensuring system reliability and resistance to electromagnetic interference. To address this, they partnered with HID Global for a solution utilizing VertX® network controllers and iCLASS® card readers.

HID Global implemented a web-based system using VertX V1000 controllers and iCLASS R10 readers, enabling real-time central monitoring and offline operational capabilities for each station. This solution provided Beijing Metro with top-to-bottom management, multi-layered security, and reliable fail-over support, ensuring continuous operation and faster response to any network issues.
