Banco Supervielle Biometric Authentication Combines Convenience with Proof of Life

Banco Supervielle, which distributes government pension benefits in Argentina through ANSES, needed a faster and more reliable way to verify that retirees were alive and present each month. Its existing authentication process was cumbersome, and the bank wanted to reduce fraud risk while making pension collection easier for more than a million beneficiaries.

Banco Supervielle implemented HID Global’s Lumidigm multispectral imaging fingerprint readers to authenticate pensioners with quick, accurate biometric checks. HID Global’s solution enabled first-try enrollment and authentication, and the rollout covered most branches nationwide for over one million retirees. The result was a very simple finger-scan process for users, significant fraud savings, and improved staff efficiency as employees were reassigned to more customer-facing advisory roles.
