Axis Improves Carbon-footprint with New Security Solution

Axis Communications, a global leader in network video, sought a new security solution for its Madrid office that would use the latest technology, be future-proof, and support its goal of improving energy efficiency to reduce its carbon footprint. To meet this challenge, the company worked with integrator Proxima Systems and vendor HID Global to implement a solution based on HID's iCLASS access control technology.

The solution implemented by HID Global consisted of iCLASS card readers and keyfobs that integrated seamlessly with a building management system. This allowed for the remote monitoring and control of electronic functions like lighting and air-conditioning, leading to significant energy savings. The result was a highly secure, future-proof system that helped Axis reduce its carbon footprint and operational costs, while also enabling quick alerts for security threats and the potential to add more applications in the future.
