An innovative customer and brand experience with trusted RFID and no APP to install

pop’n link, a fast-growing IoT start-up, partnered with HID Global to address a challenge for their customer, Hard Rock Café Lyon. The restaurant wanted to reduce wait times for guests wanting to order or pay without requiring them to download an app or use bulky, fixed tablets. The goal was to provide an on-table online menu and ordering service that supported all phone models, established proof of a customer's presence, and offered menus in multiple languages.

The solution implemented by pop’n link, powered by HID Global's Trusted Tag Services, used hardware 'pops' fixed to each table containing an NFC tag and a BLE beacon. When tapped with a smartphone, these pops directed guests to an interactive website for ordering and paying. As a result of this HID Global-enabled solution, Hard Rock Café Lyon saw a ~7% increase in revenues and 6% cost savings within six months of operation, alongside significant improvements in customer and staff satisfaction
