A HID Global Case Study
The American School of Guatemala, a bilingual non-profit college preparatory school in Guatemala City, needed to replace an outdated physical access control system that relied on handwritten logs and paper fingerprint records. The school also wanted to reduce slow vehicle drop-off times and improve safety across its large campus. HID Global was brought in through local integrator SensorlogiQ to modernize the school’s access management.
HID Global implemented an access solution using HID iCLASS SE readers, Seos smart cards, and a pilot of HID Mobile Access for parents and staff. The new system improved real-time identity verification, simplified credential management, and reduced parent drop-off time from 40 minutes to 18 minutes. It also cut paper waste and supported growth, with enrollment rising from 1,400 to 1,570 students without access management issues.
