Alticor, a company that manufactures and sells personal care products, faced the challenge of implementing state-of-the-art secure access control for its headquarters and distribution centers. The goal was to prevent potential security breaches and product contamination by moving toward a unified, future-proof card system. They turned to vendor HID Global for a solution involving Fargo® High Definition Card Printer/Encoders and HID iCLASS® cards.

HID Global implemented a solution using Fargo HDP600 printers to produce secure iCLASS cards with High Definition Printing technology, which allows for printing on smart cards and creates a tamper-proof bond. The results were a versatile and encrypted one-card system used for building access, a company store, and contractor identification. This system improved security by allowing cards to be instantly identified as voided, preventing breaches from terminated employees, and provided a flexible platform for future enhancements across all of Alticor's U.S. facilities.
