A HID Global Case Study
The International Airport of Mexico City (AICM) required a high-security access control system to manage its complex operations and thousands of staff. As Latin America's busiest airport, AICM needed a scalable, multi-factor authentication solution to secure restricted areas and prevent credential counterfeiting during a major terminal expansion. They partnered with HID Global to upgrade from their legacy system to a modern, more secure platform.
HID Global implemented a solution using V-Smart iCLASS readers and contactless smart cards integrated with Bioscrypt fingerprint authentication. This provided dual-factor security, combining "what you have" with "who you are" to virtually eliminate unauthorized access. The HID Global system was highly scalable for the new terminal, with over 20,000 credentials issued. The solution provided precise access control for the airport's vast user base, ensuring security for its critical infrastructure.
