Access control solution from HDI Global helps reinforce security at Foz do Iguaçu Airport

Foz do Iguaçu Airport faced a significant security challenge due to its strategic location and high volume of passengers, which made it prone to contraband and unauthorized access. The airport needed a robust access control solution that could integrate with its other security systems to protect restricted areas, complying with INFRAERO's requirements. To meet this need, they partnered with HID Global to implement an iCLASS access control system using readers and smart cards.

HID Global's solution involved deploying 123 iCLASS readers with one, two, or three-factor authentication, significantly strengthening security by combining proximity, password, and biometrics. This implementation made Foz do Iguaçu Airport the first to operate with all systems fully integrated, minimizing risks of fraud and unauthorized entry. The project was also designed to support future expansion, ensuring the airport's security infrastructure is prepared for increased passenger flow from major events.
