A Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division Case Study
The State of Bahia faced the challenge of coordinating multiagency public safety operations across a large population and dozens of municipalities while replacing slow, manual video-analysis processes. To scale its “Video Police” initiative, the State of Bahia partnered with Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division, deploying HxGN OnCall Dispatch and Guardian (including computer-aided dispatch and integrated facial and license-plate recognition) to unify feeds, alerts and multiagency workflows.
Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division integrated more than 4,000 cameras and 907 facial-recognition devices with a private LTE network and a mobile app on 3,561 terminals, automating alerts and dispatch to the nearest field agent. In a 40‑day Carnival period the platform processed ~200,000 calls and 37,500 events, helped arrest 79 fugitives during the event (33 in an earlier pilot) and contributed to over 850 arrests and 40+ recovered vehicles since the pilot—with ID accuracy ≥95%—while enabling a 49% drop in bodily injury and a 13% reduction in hate crimes, theft and robberies versus 2020.
