SGP Taccon Created An Out-Of-The Box Cadastral Solution With Hexagon

SGP Taccon, a long-time partner in Greece and Cyprus specializing in defense and geoinformatics, faced the challenge of building an out‑of‑the‑box cadastral and urban planning solution that could manage and compare very large, high‑resolution imagery with older, lower‑accuracy datasets for change detection, regional/urban planning and cadastral organization. To tackle data ingestion, tiling and on‑the‑fly comparison, they worked with Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division and adopted Luciad technology (Luciad Portfolio server and desktop).

Using Luciad Portfolio as the tiling engine, SGP Taccon uploaded 2 TB of raw imagery plus a recent 4 TB dataset (25–50 cm GSD) and used the desktop tools—drawing, swipe controller and built‑in data connectors—to instantly compare new and legacy data without writing any code. With Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division technology the team reduced processing/upload time from weeks to under two days, enabled seamless on‑the‑fly tiling and streaming to web apps, and dramatically improved multi‑terabyte data management and cadastral change‑detection workflows.
