Securus Provides Electronic Monitoring Solutions for Law Enforcement Using Google Maps

Securus, a provider of electronic monitoring hardware and software (including the VeriTracks map-based GPS tracking platform and BLUtag devices) supports more than 700 law enforcement and community corrections agencies. As an early adopter of Google Maps Platform, Securus faced a transition from a tracked-asset model to Google’s newer API call transaction model and needed to preserve large data-point visibility and high-performance tracking while controlling rising API costs. Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division optimized VeriTracks’ use of Google Places APIs, guided the migration to the transactional data model, and continues to provide ongoing technical support. As a result, Securus maintained the platform’s high performance for officers, reduced monthly Google Maps API costs, and shortened time-to-resolution for map-based issues—helping agencies fulfill monitoring responsibilities more reliably and affordably.
