Police Secure Global Meeting with Hexagon Incident Management Software

The Bavarian State Police faced its largest-ever security operation for the G7 Summit 2015 at Schloss Elmau, needing to protect attendees, citizens and manage roughly 18,000 officers plus more than 1,950 supporting units across a complex, restricted area. Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division supported the effort by providing public safety solutions, including its computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and major event management software, to enable centralized command, multi-agency coordination and situational awareness.

Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division deployed nine full CAD seats in a special operations room, a web-based CAD component for 1,000 users, digital radio integration, GIS/aerial imagery and a new data interface for fast interagency exchange; 5,000 staff were trained on the major event system. The result was flawless system performance under heavy load, faster incident data exchange (reducing transmission from minutes to seconds), quicker dispatching and effective coordination that helped keep violent demonstrations away and ensured a successful, error‑free operation.
