A Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division Case Study
LAFIS Association, a coalition of Swiss and Liechtenstein police, military and emergency services, faced fragmented incident command across cantons and agencies that complicated multi-jurisdictional response to major incidents and large events. To unify operations and provide a single source of information, the association adopted Hexagon's major event management software from Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division.
Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division implemented a shared system with a central server, map-based common operating picture, GPS tracking integrations, real-time messaging and role-based access controls, enabling coordinated planning and live situational awareness across partners. The solution streamlined responses for events like the World Economic Forum and Zurich’s Street Parade, improved resource efficiency and protected-person transport, is scalable for new members, and now supports roughly one-third of Switzerland’s population.
