Case Study: CET (São Paulo’s Traffic Engineering Company) achieves faster response times and map-based incident management with Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division

A Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division Case Study

Preview of the CET Case Study

Hexagon Keeps Traffic Moving Smoothly in São Paulo

CET, São Paulo’s Traffic Engineering Company, faced a major operational gap: it responds to over 13,000 traffic incidents daily but its legacy dispatch system registered only about 1,200, offered no map-based resource management, and relied on slow paper reports. To modernize incident management, geo-reference events, share data with field agents, automate workflows, and integrate with existing systems, CET selected Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division and its computer-aided dispatch (CAD) incident-management solution.

Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division deployed a map-based CAD and web components that give dispatchers and 15 CET facilities real-time incident visualization, geo-referenced reporting, and shared data access for 700 field agents per shift. The implementation cut repair time for a traffic light from hours to minutes, enabled temporal and spatial analytics for planning, and streamlined incident reporting and operations—improving response times and supporting CET’s move toward integrated, smart-city traffic management.
