Hexagon and GEOSYSTEMS Solution Allows German Officials to Automatically Download, Process, and Share Terabytes of Data

The Geoinformatic Center at the State Office of Internal Administration in Mecklenburg‑Western Pomerania faced a growing workload: fulfilling frequent, high‑volume requests for Copernicus/Sentinel imagery and derived geodata across government agencies was time‑ and resource‑intensive. To automate downloading, processing and distribution of terabytes of data, the office worked with GEOSYSTEMS using technology from Hexagon — notably products such as Sentinel Made Simple, ERDAS IMAGINE, ERDAS APOLLO, IMAGINE NoClouds and ATCOR — provided via Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division.

GEOSYSTEMS delivered mySentinel, an end‑to‑end automated processing chain built on Hexagon technology that periodically searches for and downloads Sentinel data, performs atmospheric and geometric corrections, generates cloud masks and cloudless mosaics, catalogs outputs in ERDAS APOLLO, and publishes services to the Gaia‑MV portal. The solution from Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division enables hands‑off, recurrent processing of terabytes of imagery, produces monthly cloudless mosaics, supports multitemporal analysis for many agencies, and has substantially reduced manual data pulls, specialist labor and overall cost while improving data timeliness and usability.
