Geospatial Analytics in a Mobile Workforce Management System

TNB Mobility Solution, part of Tenaga Nasional Berhad, faced persistent inefficiencies in responding to low-voltage outages across a vast service area—30 supervisors and about 400 field crews handling hundreds of tickets per day—because its Outage Management System, GIS, and asset management database operated in isolation and provided limited analytics. To close that gap TNB worked with Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division, using GeoMedia WebMap Professional and M.App Enterprise (implemented by partner Antaragrafik), to bring geospatial context and analytics into its mobile field force platform, MFFA 2.0.

Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division linked map features to asset records so incidents are tracked simultaneously in GIS and the asset database, and delivered interactive Smart M.Apps dashboards that let managers query histories, filter by outage type/status, and plan proactively. The integrated solution improved crew routing and dispatch, enabled scheduling and predictive analysis, and delivered the stated outcomes of MFFA 2.0—maximized asset performance, higher workforce productivity, and reduced costs—by turning previously locked asset lifecycles into actionable, map-centric analytics.
