WEMAG Netz GmbH, which operates an electrical network serving 179,000 customers across roughly 8,000 km² with more than 15,000 km of lines, faced a labor‑intensive, manual process for providing maps and underground pipe/cable information to municipalities, planners, construction firms and customers. To digitize and simplify information sharing, WEMAG partnered with Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division and adopted Hexagon’s HxGN NetWorks B4UDig I Portal.

Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division implemented the HxGN NetWorks B4UDig I Portal to automate requests, deliver secure online map services, document workflows and enable instant PDF downloads of plans. Since deployment 100% of requests are now handled through the portal and 80% are processed automatically, cutting wait times and personnel costs while improving turnaround, compliance tracking and overall efficiency.
