A Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division Case Study
Barcelona Police And Fire serves the city’s 1.6 million residents using the Mycelium Dispatch Emergency System built on Hexagon’s CAD technology, but callers to the regional 112 service were being transferred to city police or fire operators, delaying assistance. To unify city and regional operations and reduce response times, Barcelona Police And Fire engaged Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division to integrate their mission‑critical systems.
Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division deployed Hexagon’s Xalt | Integration solution to link Barcelona’s Mycelium Dispatch with Catalonia’s 112 CAD, enabling a real‑time exchange of about 25,000 messages daily and supporting more than 1,500 incidents per day. The integration lets callers use 112 without transfers, improves inter‑agency coordination and dispatcher situational awareness, reduces dispatcher workload and lowers operational costs for the city.
