A Next-Generational Integration in Situational Awareness

Dexata needed to integrate its Horus Live Analytics engine with a high-performance geospatial display to deliver next‑generation, real‑time situational awareness under a strict deadline. Working with Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division and its LuciadLightspeed (Lucy) product, Dexata faced technical hurdles including unfamiliarity with Java, converting the Horus API Toolkit to Java, and rapidly delivering 2D/3D map displays and live track analysis for operational use.

Hexagon's Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Division provided LuciadLightspeed, hands‑on developer support, documentation and an OEM API that enabled Dexata to convert the Horus API to Java, implement a Lucy plugin, and add TCP/IP interfaces, 2D/3D views and UI features. The integration produced concrete milestones—maps on day 4, Horus data visible in the Luciad client by day 5 and TCP/IP working by day 7—accelerating deployment, letting Dexata concentrate on analytics, and delivering a configurable, real‑time situational awareness capability.
